Years ago when everyone was praising LinkedIn.
- “Go there, that’s where your audience is.”
- “Free reach.”
- “Even mediocre writing will work on LI.”
Medium writers were going nuts. New courses on how to crash it on LI were emerging.
Where are we now?
In decline. Old tricks do not work anymore.
There are two things LinkedIn courses have been emphasizing a lot:
- “Use LI keywords and language.”: work, talent, career, etc.
- “Use personal stories and selfies.”
If you did these two, you would grow well and achieve some staggering reach. However, LinkedIn has turned into another social network, with people posting selfies from toilets and writing about their children, best friends, and weddings.
On top of that, you could see very similar hooks like these:
- 10 learnings from working 10 years as XX.
- On my way to work…
- The one thing that surprised me in my career…
