He takes charge amid major projects
Scott Langford (pictured above) has officially started his role as CEO of Housing Australia.
Langford’s leadership begins at a critical juncture, following the recent announcement of an initial pipeline of 185 projects that could deliver more than 13,700 social and affordable homes under the federal government’s Housing Australia Future Fund and National Housing Accord.
Leadership welcomes Langford
Carol Austin, chair of Housing Australia, expressed her enthusiasm for Langford’s appointment.
“We’re excited to have Scott join us as we ramp up activity, together with partners, to enable more Australians to buy a home sooner and increase the supply of social and affordable housing,” Austin said.
Vision for the future
Langford shared his commitment to enhancing collaboration with industry and government to address the housing challenge.
“I look forward to working with the board and team to evolve how we partner with industry and all levels of government to deliver outcomes that help more Australians access affordable, safe, and secure housing,” he said.
A reflection of support
In a LinkedIn post, Langford acknowledged the warm reception he has received since his appointment, noting the significant interest from stakeholders eager to contribute to housing solutions.
He also recognised the foundational work of his predecessor, Nathan Dal Bon, thanking him for his dedication to improving housing outcomes in Australia.
Extensive industry experience
Langford brings a wealth of experience, having previously served in leadership roles at SGCH, PowerHousing Australia, and the Community Housing Industry Council.
